IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT CCF

To Patients, Caregivers and the entire NET Community:

Important News—CCF Future

The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation (“CCF”) is evaluating our future functions and mission by stepping back after 57 years to self-assess how we can be most impactful to the community. CCF was founded in 1995 as successor to the Carcinoid Tumor and Serotonin Research Foundation, founded in 1968. In 2009, CCF pivoted away from research and focused on education for patients and their caregivers, developing a hub of checklists, websites and information. We connect with and provide this information to patients and caregivers in the neuroendocrine tumor community through pushing this information to individuals, social media accounts, websites and other contacts (“NET Community”).

Evaluating our future course will take time, effort and honest self-reflection. Fortunately, we have some thoughtful minds on our Board as well as others in the NET Community to provide important insight and guidance to help us with respect to this future direction. We have delegated the management of certain of our services to another trusted non-profit, the Neuroendocrine Cancer Foundation (“NCF”).

Important News—Donations Paused

We feel it would be neither equitable nor prudent to accept donations from the NET Community until we have completed our self-assessment and determined how to best serve the community. Therefore, as of April 2, 2025, we will no longer be taking donations. If you want to continue to give, please consider donating to NCF. This is important—how you donate is completely up to you. We simply suggest, during our time of our self-reflection, your donations go to an organization with a similar mission and with whom we have an extremely positive past and current relationship. If you wish to donate to NCF, please click here.

Relationship with NCF

We develop strong relationships with other non-profits often. One such organization is NCF. Its mission is similar to CCF’s. Recognizing this, CCF and NCF began working together in March 2023 and formalized our relationship in May of 2023. The collaboration has been extraordinarily successful. For that reason and others, we are deepening our relationship with NCF. Going forward, NCF will take the lead on our “Stories of Hope” video series as well as our “Luncheon With The Experts” event series. From this point forward, the primary time commitment, organizational responsibilities and other costs in relation to these events will be borne by NCF in consultation with CCF.

Closing

In closing, we want to thank NCF, our community, donors and staff for everything they have done so far. We also would like to assure all in the NET Community that CCF will take the requisite time to evaluate how we move forward. In the meantime, from the NET Community’s perspective, nothing will change—the website, information channels, stories, panels and other events will continue as before. We look forward to this next chapter and will keep everyone informed.

Sincerely,

Keith Warner
